It takes time to determine if there is a good fit between the research interests of applicant and supervisor and to develop a focused, compelling statement of academic and research goals for the application. Please note that characteristics of successful applicants to the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing PhD program include an “A” standing in the master’s program, excellent references attesting to research potential, a CV demonstrating evidence of scholarship and research ability.

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)
Through her work as a Research Associate in the Centre for Nursing and Adjunct Scientist in the Research Institute at SickKids, Dr. Stremler often provides mentorship for staff and advanced practice nurses who wish to design and conduct a research project. Interested nurses are encouraged to contact Dr. Stremler for these opportunities or to pursue formal mentorship through the SickKids Centre for Nursing’s
Nursing Research Fellowship program or the
RNAO Advanced Clinical/Practice Fellowship program .
